In this video tutorial I am going to show you how I created this card using products from Stampin' Up!'s Butterfly Brilliance Promotion along with the Pierced Blooms die set.
A card featuring Stampin' Up!'s Butterfly Bijou patterned paper

Hey there friends! I have one last butterfly card to share with you this month. Once again I created it using the Butterfly Bijou designer series paper, however, I paired it with the Pierced Blooms dies for the greenery.

Sadly, the patterned paper is no longer available. I guess it was a lot more popular than Stampin’ Up! expected, and it’s sold out. I’m keeping my fingers crossed though that maybe they’ll re-print it an offer it again as it sold out so quickly! I know it’s probably a slim-to-none chance, but…here’s hoping anyways LOL!

The Butterfly Brilliance Collection consists of the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and coordinating Brilliant Wings dies along with the stunning Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and the woodgrain specialty paper.

To see all the products included, check out the Butterfly Brilliance Collection flyer here.

Note that this promotion is available March 2 – May 3, 2021. While the stamp set and dies will be available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, the paper won’t. It’s available only while supplies last.

You can take a closer look at all the items available in this collection either in the flyer or from this blog post.

Stampin’ Up! Canada | Happy Birthday Card

A card featuring Stampin' Up!'s Butterfly Bijou patterned paper

As with the previous cards I created, the butterflies on this card were cut out from the Butterfly Bijou DSP.  Although, as I mentioned, the paper is no longer available, you can easily swap them out.

The simplest way would be to stamp, color, and die cut the butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set.

The other way you could swap them out would be to die cut some butterflies from the Brilliant Wings die set. You could even make your die cut butterflies colourful, by sponging color onto the die cut pieces.

Stampin’ Up! Canada | Happy Birthday Dimensions

  • Basic White Thick CS: a 4 ¼” x 11″ piece
  • Basic White Regular CS: a 4″ x 5 ¼” piece
  • Granny Apple Green CS: a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece
  • Basic Black CS: a scrap piece
  • Butterfly Bijou patterned paper: a 6″ x 6″ piece (large butterflies)

Stampin’ Up! Canada | Happy Birthday Instructions

Step 1: Score the 4 ¼” x 11″ piece of Basic White Thick cardstock at 5 ½” and then fold it in half with your bone folder to create your card base.

Step 2: Fussy cut the large pink butterfly, small yellow/orange butterfly and the large blue butterfly from the 6″ x 6″ piece of Butterfly Bijou patterned paper using paper snips.

Step 3: Rub an embossing powder tool over a scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock. Stamp the “happy” greeting and the “for you” greeting onto the cardstock using Whisper White Craft ink. Sprinkle white embossing powder over the greetings. Tap off the excess embossing powder. Heat this with a heat tool until the embossing powder has melted.

Step 4: Fussy cut the “happy” greeting, leaving a narrow border, using paper snips. Trim the “birthday” greeting into a strip that is about ⅜” x 1 ⅛” using a paper trimmer.

Step 5: Place some adhesive sheets on the back of the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. Die-cut four branches that have five leaves each and four branches that have two leaves each from the cardstock using the Pierced Blooms dies and a die cutting machine.

Step 6: Remove the backing from the branches and stick them onto the right side of the card.

Step 7: Stick the large pink butterfly and the small yellow/orange butterfly onto the card using dimensional adhesive.

Step 8: Lay the “happy” greeting onto the card for placement. Stick the large blue butterfly onto the card using liquid glue. Stick the “happy” greeting onto the card, slightly overlapping the large blue butterfly, using dimensional adhesive.

Step 9: Stick the “birthday” greeting onto the card using double-sided adhesive.

Step 10: Embellish the card using some rhinestones. You’re done!

  1. Andrea, loved your card and I’m so happy your grandfather got his first shot. Please continue with your tutorials, your voice is so encouraging. I gave my cricut machine to my daughter, but I’m going to have to check out the Brother scan and cut machine.

    Thank you, Rita
