Hey there friends! Happy May! Before I jump into today’s post, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for all your lovely comments, support and encouragement on my last post “When Life Gives You Lemons…” I really appreciate your love and concern.

In some ways it feels like just yesterday that I wrote that post. At the same time, it feels like it’s been forever too.

I’ll be honest, it’s been rough.

I’ve cut back my diet to just a handful of the same foods which I’ve been eating pretty much every single day for the last month. All foods that are supposedly “okay” for people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Yet despite that,  almost every day I experience gut pain or discomfort of some sort.

I think what’s most frustrating right now is that I don’t have answers. And I don’t know when I’m going to have answers.

The hospital emergency doctor told me he thought I might have IBD, but I would need to consult with a GI specialist. Do you know when my consult is?

Not until May 17th. Which will be 6 weeks AFTER my hospital visit.

And it’s just a phone consult.

Heaven knows when they’ll actually get around to doing testing.

And because they don’t know what the problem actually is, no one is giving me recommendations of any kind. Not the hospital doctor, not my family doctor.

Which leaves me trying to figure everything out on my own.

Let me tell you, I’m NOT having fun with it. There is so much conflicting advice out there. Even on so-called sites that are dedicated to gut health and IBD.

What it all seems to come down to, is that everyone reacts differently. What is fine for one person, can trigger another. UGH!

So, here I am, 3 weeks later, with everything still up in the air. Still trying to figure things out. Still feeling like poop.

But, despite it all, I DO have a card to share with you today.

It’s my monthly exclusive tutorial for all my email subscribers,

What does that mean?

It means that every month, at the beginning of the month, my email subscribers receive an email with a link to video tutorial for an intermediate/advanced level card AND a downloadable PDF handout with supplies, dimensions and step-by-step written directions.

To get access to the tutorial and handout, all you have to do is subscribe to my email newsletter.

Stampin’ Up! Canada | Hot Dog! It’s Your Birthday

For this month’s card I used the super cute “Hot Dog” stamp set.

It’s a stamp set from the 2021 Spring Mini Catalogue, and it features dogs in different poses.

I coloured the dog using my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, in a very soft, gingery tone. Which just happens to be very close to the colour of my dog.

I paired the dog image with the fun paper patterns from the Playing with Patterns 6″ x 6″ designer series paper.

The paper is sadly now retired, but really, you can use paper in any fun patterns that you may have. The stamp set is still available until June 30th.

For details on how I made the card, you gotta watch the tutorial 😉. And for that, it means you need to be an email subscriber.

It’s easy peasy though, just click the link here to subscribe.

Welcome

Hey there! Welcome to my blog! My name is Andrea Walford. I’m an artist and maker, mom of 5, caregiver to my 99 1/2 year old grandpa and a proud 1/2 Mexican 1/2 Hungarian “woman of color.”

As a self-taught artist I have a passion for helping others discover and develop their creative confidence. And I have found that card making is a great way to do this.

When you make a card, your “canvas” is small. Yet it has so much creative potential.

So if you want to learn how to make beautiful cards while developing your creative confidence – you’ve come to the right place!
