Make Beautiful Cards | Card Making Made Easy by Andrea Walford | Quick Tip: How To Come Up With Card Design Ideas

Do you ever struggle to come up with card designs?

You choose a stamp set to work with, sit down to create, and then…

Nothing. Nada. Zip. Blank.

No matter how hard you rack your brain, you can’t come up with any ideas.

And you don’t want to just start stamping, because what if you don’t like it? And what if you can’t figure out to make it work and end up having to start over. You’ve wasted supplies. And I don’t know about you, but I hate wasting supplies!

The frustrating thing about creative design blocks is that you never know when they are going to happen. You can be on a real creative roll…the mojo is flowing…and then BAM! You’re stuck!

For me, this usually happens when I’m working with stamp sets and products that fall outside my “comfort zone.”

That’s why I filmed today’s Quick Tip video.

Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp SetThe stamp set in today’s quick tip video had me stumped (the new Tasteful Touches stamp set being released June 3, 2020). I originally bought it because I really liked the style of the greetings. Plus I really liked the card samples I saw in the catalogue.

But…

When I sat down to create with it, all of a sudden I didn’t quite know what to do with it.

You see, I’m used to working with stamp sets that have multiple images that coordinate one with the other.

With the Tasteful Touches stamp set, although the images complement one another – they don’t precisely coordinate.  For example, I can’t build a bouquet of flowers because there is only one flower in one size, in one orientation – and it’s pretty large.

Needless to say I was kind of stumped.

Until I followed the process that I share with you in today’s video. It’s the exact process I follow to help me get beyond my “creative blocks.”
